Woman, Don't Settle! You Have Value!

As I sat in church last Sunday, I began to take a panoramic view of the congregation.  I saw so many single young women who love God with their whole hearts. That's not all I saw. I saw the devil trying to attack their self esteem and self worth. When I stood to deliver the message, God began to deal with me concerning the next level of growth.

Often times we will compare ourselves with what we see around us.  We may conclude that we fit in, but too many times we feel we fall short.   You may not feel that you are up to par.  You may think that because of your physical appearance, economics, or past relationships, you are not worthy of a good man. Well let me just talk to you right now.  I have to tell you that you are not just good enough, but you are everything that God has made you! It's still true that God does not make junk!

Growth comes when we know who we are and whose we are! God made you great! He placed in you tenderness, compassion, love, and strength! My mother raised 6 girls and she didn't allow us to believe we were anything short of strong women.  She let us know that God made us and that alone gave us value! Maybe no one told you yet, or they said it but, you didn't believe them.  Let me tell you today that you are valuable! God made you a beautiful vessel of honor!

People sometimes think that because you are a saved woman walking with God, then you must be weak, teary-eyed, and scary.  The devil is a lie! The most powerful woman in the world is one that serves God! If you don't believe me, buck up against her. You better be ready for war because you just pushed her down on her knees.  Oh yes, she knows that winning the battle isn't in her hips or fingertips.   The battle is won on her knees! That's where she tells God all about her situation.  That's where she pours her tears out and wipes them with her hair. She does war in her prayer closet.

If you are a woman waiting on marriage, don't accept anything but the best.  It gets lonely sometimes, but don't allow that to make you needy and take just anybody.  The devil will send a slothful, sweet-talking deadbeat your way, but if you let God keep you, there's a great Godly man for you.  Believe it or not, they still exist! God is still raising up mighty men of valor who will cover you in prayer and love you like Christ loved the church.

Your next level of growth is in your identity in Christ! You are not a throw-away or
doormat.  You are a King's kid and the palace belongs to you!

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. Galatians 3:29

Prayer Is Essential

Essential is defined as being absolutely necessary and extremely important. I cannot think of anything more essential to the spiritual health of the believer than prayer. As the year comes to close, I look back at the tragedies some of us narrowly escaped, the tests we endured, and the pain we suffered. This glance back isn't global or even national. We only have to look as far as our own front doors.  Even our houses of worship have been subject to trials. It is only through the grace of God that we are not consumed. And it is essential that we pray, and we give thanks. Prayer can sometimes be seen as powerful when the verbiage is great, and the tone is loud. For me, it has been in my quietest moments that I have seen the power of prayer manifest miracles. Search and Surrender

This is the time when so many are evaluating their lives and declaring change.  You know the season.  When the new year rolls in, we start looking for a new person to emerge in the mirror.  This can be an effective motivation for some.  They begin the weight loss journey and soon begin to see results. That accomplishment becomes a drug that keeps them running back to the gym.   I could possibly make some declarations of my own, but this year I am asking God to do a new thing in me. It would be nice to be slimmer, richer, and all of that, but it's more important for this child of God to be spiritually made new.  I'm not talking about a new shout or dance, but I want God to transform me from the inside out.  This time of year is also a time of consecration.  We turn down our plates and lift up our hearts in prayer.
