Celebrate! God will get you through!

Habakkuk 3:17-19
Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet will I rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.  The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds' feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places.  To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

No matter how hard things may get around us or what may be happening in our lives, we have a God that will get us through.  It may seem like at times that God is not answering our prayers, but we have to know that God has been good to us.  God is listening.
I was raised that it was wrong to question to God, but I've come to find out that God wants relationship with us, and with that comes communication. It's hard to look at the cruelty of humanity and our political climate and not ask God why! Look at the murders in the streets, the shootings in places of prayer, and the suicides of young children.  Clearly, we live in a world where everything is happening, and it seems as if the moral standard has been let down.

Habakkuk finds himself asking God why his enemies were overtaking him.  He wanted to know how long God would allow unrighteousness in the land. How long will there be violence? Haven't you ever just wondered why God allows some things to happen? In our homes, our churches, our families, God why?  Habakkuk was in pain and turmoil.  This lets us know that we can have positions and titles and still need a word from the Lord.

I believe that God is telling us in this season that these things must happen.  If they will drive the people of God to their knees, they must happen.  If we are to return to God, he will allow what he must to call us back to him.

I want to encourage you that no matter what is going on in your life, you have a God that will get you through.  He has given you the grace of choice which allows you to decide if you will give up or send a praise up! He has also given you the grace of chastisement.  Sometimes God has to get a little rough with us to straighten us out and remind us that he alone is God.  Suffering comes not to break you, but to build you.  The bending comes to make you flexible in God.  You are better today because you suffered yesterday.  God wants you to grow to the place that your first instinct isn't to complain, but to celebrate God's sovereignty.  He has given you all that you need to get through your trials.

Look at Habakkuk 3:19.  Habakkuk comes to the conclusion that though there are no figs on the trees or herd in the stall, he will rejoice! Why? Because God has given him the grace of creation.  He made Habakkuk's feet like hinds' feet! Hinds' feet can traverse any terrain.  When the mountains are slick and dangerous, hinds' feet can travel and be safe.  When the path ahead is treacherous and tenuous, hind's feet have stability and strength.

You may be facing some rough terrain right now.  You may even be full of questions.  I encourage you to remember the God you serve.  Trust him and celebrate his power.  Celebrate his healing.  Celebrate his love for you! You have a God that will get you through anything and everything.

Reaching the lost at any cost,
