Keep On Pressing!
We
are living in dangerous times. When people are afraid to go to church
because they might get shot down in worship, these are dangerous times. Children
are reported missing and we have wonder if they have been taken for sex
trafficking. People are looking for ways to fill the void of love, and
drugs are being legalized and sanctioned as a remedy. There is so much
going on around us, but the believers have hope. We have the answer to
the problems of today. We have a God that will bring us through.
All we have to do is keep on pressing.
In
Luke 13:10-15, we find a woman that has suffered with an infirmity in her body
for eighteen years. She was bent over and unable to function
normally. She entered the
synagogue
where Jesus was teaching, and he healed her. The religious leaders were
upset because Jesus healed on the sabbath day. Can you imagine coming to
church, but you can't receive healing? Coming to church and being denied
a miracle?
A famous Christian
writer wrote that life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of what you do
with it! This woman took her 10% to Jesus! If you are going to be a winner,
then you have to see yourself winning. Logically, she was broken, and it
was the sabbath, but her faith looked beyond logic! Her faith went beyond the
religious orders and rules. She kept on pressing. If you are going
to be victorious, then you have to see yourself victorious. Don't wait on
your situation to move, but make your mind move past the situation.
This woman is a unique
example of how your response can change your situation. She was bent over
which means her view was limited to what was below her. When life breaks you
down, you cannot see the great God above you. When you can only see
brokenness, you can't see deliverance. When you can only see pain, you
can't see healing.
I want to encourage you
to keep on pressing. No matter what your eyes see, keep on pressing.
No matter what it sounds like, looks like, or feels like, God is in your
corner. Keep on pressing your way to deliverance. Keep on praying and
studying the word of God. Be like the woman and keep on pressing!
Reaching the lost at any cost,
