There Is A Great God!
As I stood in the pulpit on Sunday, I looked at all the people sitting in expectation. They had not come to church out of ritual, but they were led there by the spiritual revelation that there is a great God!
We cannot afford to walk this life without recognition and revelation. What do I mean? This sinful word demands that we recognize our need for God. Despite our education, we aren't intelligent enough to survive without God. Despite our assets or assignments, we cannot effectively do battle in warfare on our own. We must recognize our need for God and his power. He has to be the head of our lives. His direction must be the roadmap we follow. His word must be our word!
When we take inventory of all God has done just this morning, we can't help but come to the spiritual revelation that there is a great God! He woke you up this morning without any assistance. He was the alarm before there was an alarm. He was the breath before there was breath. He started you on your way today. How? I'm glad you asked! God put your mental faculties in place before you even woke up. He allowed you to wake and know your name. Many suffer today because they don't even know their own name. Not only did he let you know your earthly name, but he also reminded you that your name is victory! You are more than a conqueror. That is starting you on your way into a world that knows not God. He didn't let you put your shoes on your head or your hat on your feet. That's a great God! The activity of your limbs comes from God, and it is nothing to take for granted. Without it, you couldn't even wash your face in the morning. I could go on and on!
You don't have to be in trouble before you come to the understanding that there is a great God. When you wake up in the morning, he's there. When you go into the world, he's gone before you. Don't be guilty of arrogance, but recognize that you need God. Don't be afraid of what lies ahead. Take hold of the spiritual revelation that there is a great God.
For thou art great and doest wondrous things: Thou art God alone. Psalm 86:10
