There Is An Exit!

I really enjoy this time of year.  I usually get to enjoy extra time with my family and friends.  Big dinners with people in every room are my ideal holiday.  Days later I can still hear the laughter of my grandchildren.  In some ways, those memories seem so far away.

No matter where you are in the world today, you have been affected by this pandemic.  Many have been sick and lost loved ones.  We have learned new contexts for words such as restrictions, guidelines, and tracing. Our daily lives look very different from the beginning of the year.   Our family dinners are smaller and secluded.  The rooms aren't full of faces, but visions of what was.

We haven't been able to go to many places lately, but one thing is for sure.  No matter where we go, we don't have to stay there.  Have you ever thought of an exit sign? They seem to be everywhere we go, but we don't pay them much attention until we're someplace we no longer want to be.  What I love about exit signs is that they are universal.  Whether you speak the language of a place doesn't really matter. You recognize the symbol of a man running, arrow, or the big red letters EXIT.

When you walk through a door, you must realize that just like you came in, you can go out.  You can go through a different door, take the stairs, or turn around and head back out the door you entered.  In fact, you have to understand that even a cave has an exit.  This has been a rough year, but God is giving us an exit. We won't stay in the place that we are in.

We don't know how long we'll be dealing with restrictions, guidelines, and tracing, but we do know that God is in control.  You don't have to get comfortable with troubling circumstances.  When you start accepting situations, even pandemics, as permanent, you begin to lose hope.  I'm not naive enough to think our world will just go back to normal, but I do believe you can be free even in a lockdown. God can free your mind from fear and worry. If you pray with the expectation of receiving, you open the door to your blessings, growth, and deliverance. I don't know if you will leave by the door you entered, take the stairs, or come out on the other side, but just know, there is an exit!

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Be encouraged! You're coming out!
